Sweet Baby Girl

Welcome to the world!!

After 20 hours of labor, my best friend Ragan delivered this adorable and sweet baby girl via C-section at 8:54 this morning. Her name is Kyah and she is 7 lbs 3 oz. and 19 inches long. Congratulations to the brand new Mommy and Daddy!!

Another Fun Weekend!

2 in a row! Chandler and I had another fun-filled weekend with family. Saturday we went to Rooster's in Ogden for lunch to celebrate Darcy's 25th birthday (for the 6th year in a row, but who's counting, really?). The food was really good, especially the bread pudding, and the company was even better.

Mike (my adorable fiance!) and his sons Ty and Taten met me and Chandler at Rooster's after we ate and we headed to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it, especially if you have little kids. It was so much fun and so interesting! There was so much to see and learn and touch (yes, touch!). Chandler had a lot of fun, but I think I had more fun watching her reaction to it all. She wanted to reach through the glass and touch most of the fish. Luckily there was a good inch of glass between her and the piranhas, or she wouldn't have fingers! Her favorite was the sea turtle. It swam past her very closely and she was in AWE! Mike bought her a cute little stuffed one from the gift shop to remember the trip. I took a ton of pictures of the fishes and other creatures....

Why there were tarantulas at the aquarium I will never know, but they were huge and gave me the willies!

After the aquarium, we went to the Cheesecake Factory and ate (there's not much I wouldn't do for a piece of their lemon raspberry cream cheesecake....it's a little slice of heaven!) and did a little shopping at Naartjie (mother's of little girls, you HAVE to check this store out! SO CUTE!!). Ty was sweet and helped me pick the perfect outfit for Chandler. Then we headed home, all tired and all stuffed.

Sunday my little brother Tyson was ordained a Teacher, so we had a little family get-together to celebrate. Sandwiches and salad were perfect warm weather foods, and we spent most of the day outside (I've got the farmer's tan to prove it!) with all of Chandler's cousins. It was a fun day spent with family.

First Pedicure

Chandler had her first pedicure yesterday (and her second one today....guess she likes it)! She is really good and holds still while you paint, but is ready to run as soon as the brush is back in the bottle. I have to hold her down and blow on them while she wiggles and tries to get away. Fingers are next!

She also decided to pull on her diaper today until she was showing some crack. I HAD to take a picture! She didn't even notice, or else just didn't care.

Easter Weekend

I know, it's Thursday and I'm barely posting about last weekend, but better late than never, right? We had SUCH a fun weekend with family and friends! Friday started the fun with a trip to the American West Heritage Center with my friend Celee and her cute daughter Rubee. They were hosting their annual Baby Animal Days and we thought that it would be a blast to take our little ones and let them see all the cute baby critters. We did have fun, although I think it will be more fun in a couple years, when the girls can fight for their turn with the animals. We did see all that we wanted to see, but we weren't really able to hold many of them. Afterwards, we went to lunch at Olive Garden (can't beat the soup and breadsticks!) and did some shopping. It was really fun to have Celee and Rubee with us. Thanks, guys! We'll have to do another play date soon!

Saturday was also way fun. As a tradition, all my siblings and their kids came over to my mom's house and we did a hunt for lunch. We hid sandwiches, carrots, chips, etc. all throughout the house and all the younger kids (and by younger kids, I mean everyone that doesn't have kids of their own) got to find it. Then we had a "picnic" inside on a blanket, since the weather wasn't really stable. After lunch we hurried and did an Easter egg hunt before the rain started. We had some great prizes (you're always so creastive, Darc!) and everyone had lots of fun! That night, Chandler, Mike and I decided to try our hand at dying some hard boiled eggs. It was quite an adventure with a handsy one year old, but we made it and managed to make some cute ones. My faves were the ones that Chandler colored on with the clear crayon. So sweet! We also made sure that we set out Chand's basket for the Easter Bunny before we went to bed.

Sunday was great! We got up a little early (I made a HUGE effort to get to church on time, but to no avail) to make time for to see what treats the Easter Bunny brought, and he spoiled Chandler rotten! A dress, some shoes, which by the way were the first thing she noticed (that's my girl!), a doll for the bathtub, a cute hooded towel, some bubble bath, a rubber duck and LOTS of sweet treats were all left for her. I hope she'll share the chocolate with me! She looked adorable in her new dress and shoes for church, although I didn't get any pictures of it (like I said, I was LATE!). The whole fam came over for dinner and we had some great food and even better company, as usual. Chandler had a fun bath that night with all her new gear. She DIGS the doll and the bubble bath! She was washing the baby with the little soap that it came with and insisted on sleeping with it that night. She's such sweetheart and I love her so much! Holidays always seem funner with a little one around.


Sorry for such a long post, but it was such a packed and fun-filled weekend that I had to share. I hope you all had as much fun as we did!

Happy Birthday, Tyson!

My little (or should I say younger, as he is like 4 inches taller than me) Tyson turned 14 yesterday. We celebrated with a little family get-together with dinner and cake and ice cream. I was in charge of the cake. I teased him that I was going to put Batman or Superman on it, but he insisted that it be Transformers and that it be layered, so thats what I did. Have to please the birthday boy! 2 chocolate layers with a white layer in the middle made for some good eating, and I think it turned out pretty cute!



We thought that we could get the background color to be gray, but it turned out a little purple. It still looked good though, and tasted great. Happy Birthday, Buddy!

Fun With Shoes!

My sister Darcy's little girls Zoey and Lucy have been staying with us while their parents are on a fun trip to Vegas for Darcy's birthday (she's THIRTY, no matter what her kids tell you!!), so Lucy has been having fun playing with Chandler during the day while her sister goes to school. They are both into shoes, and each found a pair to wear around the house today. Chandler's were a little small as they belong to Brooke's Build-A-Bear, and Lu's were a little large, as they were Brooke's. Check it out....

Little Cleaner

Chandler came up to me with the box of wipes today and had me hold it while she opened it and took out a wipe. She immediately went over to her toy bin and started cleaning it. My first thought was that she had spent WAY too much time at Amy's house and that Amy's OCD cleaning habits were rubbing off on her, but then she did this.....


She wiped her face on it AFTER rubbing all over the toy bin! Gross! At least she knows to keep both things clean. We will just have to teach her to use 2 different cloths to do so.

P.S. Notice that her TONGUE is out. She probably needs a Tetanus booster now. Sick.

Easter Treats

About a month ago I stumbled across a candy making kit in Wal-Mart and thought that it looked fun, so I picked it up. I decided to make them today in between conference sessions. It was lots of fun! It came with quite a few molds and 4 colors of candy melts, so you got to design them and make them however you wanted. There was a tiny paint brush that I used for all the details, then poured the background color in, stuck in the sticks, put them in the fridge for a while and they were done. Don't be fooled though....the painting was time consuming and kind of hard since all the details were so small. But it was so fun! I think I want to make it a new tradition. This year, Chandler helped me out by napping while I did most of it, then licking the bowls and paint brush clean, but I'm thinking next year she could pick colors and stuff. Check out the final product....

These ones were quite a bit bigger. The white one was my favorite and the bigger ones were much easier to work with.
